Intel Core i9-7900X Processor

When all other manufacturers were presenting their flagship products, INTEL was planning something big and is set to launch its another flagship processor the Intel Core i9-7900x with all the great specifications a flagship can have.Since the processors fall into the category of Intel Core X-series with code name Skylake. Also, it sports a 14nm build technology with 13.75 MB L3 Cache and max turbo frequency up to 4.30Ghz and from Intel Turbo Boost Max technology 3.0 the frequency can go up to 4.50Ghz.The processor has 10 CORES and 20 THREADS.

The processor supports the Bus Speed of 8GT/s DMI3 and the average power consumed by the processor i.e. Thermal Design Power (TDP) is 140W. Also, the maximum memory size is 128GB depending upon the memory type (DDR4-2666). It supports PCI Express 3.0 and has a max of 44 PCI Express lanes.

TECHNOLOGIES:

Furthermore, the processor has opted with the best-in-class advanced technologies that INTEL has produced till now, that are:

1. Intel Optane Memory support,

2. Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0,

3.  Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0,

4. Intel Hyper-Threading Technology,

5. Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x),

6.  Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d),

7. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology,

8. Intel Data Protection Technology,

9. Intel Platform Protection Technology.

The major competition of  Intel Core i9-7900x processor is with AMDs flagship processor Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7. Although AMD is giving plenty of variants with its Ryzen products, that are listed below:

AMD Ryzen 7-1800X:

3.6GHz clock rate with 4.0 GHz Precision Boost,

Extended Frequency Range (XFR) in the presence of better cooling,

95 Watt TDP.

AMD Ryzen 7-1700X:

3.4 GHz clock rate with 3.8 GHz Precision Boost,

Extended Frequency Range (XFR) in the presence of better cooling,

95 Watt TDP.

AMD Ryzen 7-1700:

3.0 GHz clock rate with 3.7 GHz Precision Boost,

Illuminated AMD Wraith Spire cooler with RGB color control,

65 Watt TDP.

The processor would be released in the 2nd quarter of 2017 and is a desktop segment processor.
